Hello
As we - my husband, our 3-year-old twin boys, and I - are getting ready to travel to Belize tomorrow, let me tell you more about this small but diverse country.
Belize might be one of the smallest countries in Central America, but it offers a surprisingly rich variety of experiences for visitors.
Tucked between Mexico, Guatemala, and the Caribbean Sea, Belize is fringed with colorful reefs off its eastern coast, while the country’s interior is dotted with Mayan ruins hidden away in lush green jungles.
On a Belize vacation, you can explore caves, go tubing, watch howler monkeys scampering through the trees, or go snorkeling or diving on a remote atoll. If you tire of the pristine beaches, you can escape completely and hide out in one of the many jungle resorts exploring ancient Mayan ruins. Check out our Belize vacation packages or contact us for a customized tour.
Make sure to follow our Belize trip on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about our family's adventures on the Caribbean islands of Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye and our rainforest experience at the famous Lamanai Outpost Lodge.
Take care
Anja

Our Belize Family Vacation will amaze you
Belize is also full of treasures just waiting to be discovered and experienced. On a Belize family vacation, families will love the range of activities available including hiking, ziplining, kayaking, snorkeling, paddle-boarding, fishing, and incredible wildlife viewing. Belize is an English-speaking country, making it easier for interactions between residents and visitors.
Families can enjoy eco-tours, exploration in the jungle, and beach time in San Pedro. San Pedro Town is in the southern part of Ambergris Caye, in northern Belize. Its sandy streets are lined with wooden houses, seafood restaurants, and beach bars.

Ambergris Caye, Belize: The Ultimate Itinerary
Stretching along the world-renowned reef, Ambergris Caye is home to San Pedro Town, the island’s biggest settlement, located in the southern section of the island. The sandy streets, flanked with multi-hued wooden houses, sets the scene for island life and you’ll notice that everything operates a bit slower.
If you love seafood, you’re in luck—great bites are everywhere. Hop in a golf cart, the main mode of transportation, and explore the best of San Pedro Town.
8 reasons Belize should be on your travel bucket list
You may be familiar with popular destinations like Mexico and Costa Rica when dreaming about a Central American vacation. I recently traveled through the region and fell in love with the lesser-known country of Belize.
While you may not feel comfortable to travel right now, now is a great time to research new adventures for when you can travel again. Here’s why you should consider adding Belize to your bucket list.
- No Spanish required Belize is the only country in Central America with English as its official language. Why?

About the size of New Hampshire and with a population around that of Tampa, Belize is home to the world’s second-largest barrier reef, jungles with jaguars and howler monkeys, mountain pine forests, turquoise waters, bonefish flats, mystic caves, coral atolls, and Mayan treasures. English is the official language, and U.S. dollars are accepted, making it an accessible, tropical get-away.
If you’re planning a trip to the “Jewel,” you don’t need the wisdom of a Mayan ruler to realize that a solid travel plan is a worthwhile investment if emergencies arise before or during your trip.
Hotel Spotlight
Ramon's Village Resort - San Pedro, Belize - Ambergris Caye
This is one of the hotels we will be staying at!
Styled after the Tahitian cottages on the Polynesian island of Bora Bora, the cabanas are built from native materials by craftsmen utilizing the same skill and techniques the islanders used in the days of the great sailing ships.
Ramon’s Village is a sanctuary nestled in a tropical garden of Royal Palms, bougainvillea, lilies, hibiscus, and dozens of other types of tropical flora. Surrounded by the plant life are Mayan sculptures that provide a glimpse of the civilization that preceded us in this Caribbean paradise.
Once inside the enchanted village, you’ll be in a world of your own choosing.
