Hello
Even though I am currently thoroughly enjoying quality time with family in Germany and the cooler temperatures that late summer in Northern Germany (we are near the Baltic Sea) has to offer, I still find myself daydreaming of my favorite place in the whole wide world- the San Blas Islands, or Guna Yala as it is locally known.
They are located in Panama, on the Caribbean Coast, and truly are paradise on earth.
Make sure to read my blog article on this magical place and you'll quickly see why it is a bucket list item!

Discover Paradise on Earth: The Ultimate Guide to the San Blas Islands
Panama, located between the Pacific and the Caribbean, is the land bridge connecting Central and South America. Panama’s beautiful coastlines and archipelagoes attract many tourists, but those looking for a more secluded experience will find what they’re looking for on the San Blas Islands.
The Caribbean islands are relatively unknown to most, but they deserve to be much more famous. A group of picturesque islands inhabited only by the indigenous Guna tribe, the islands make for a magical experience.
The San Blas islands are home to pristine landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and communities of Guna. They host visitors keen to get a taste of island life without the bells and whistles associated with luxury resorts. Accommodation here is mostly backpacker-style with shared cabins and bathrooms – with a few exceptions.
The islands attract people from all over the world – but it’s not mass tourism. It is still pretty and quiet. I feel it is mostly known in the backpacker world but it really is a destination worth exploring for all ages and walks of life.

10 Things You Didn't Know About The Panama Canal
The Panama Canal is found in Panama, South America. It is an artificial waterway that joins the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The idea was to create a shortcut route between Europe and Asia, a task that seemed like science fiction at that time. The canal is a conduit for maritime trade.
A French construction company was the first to begin construction on the canal and failed to deliver on the construction. The project is said to be one of the most challenging and tedious of all time. Civil engineer associations refer to the project as one of the seven wonders of the world.
We will be highlighting ten things you didn't know about the Panama Canal.
Panama, Copa Airlines Relaunch “Stopover in Panama” Program
A cosmopolitan city, coffee farms, abundant biodiversity and pristine beaches can now be discovered at no additional airfare with Panama and Copa Airlines’ relaunch of the “Stopover In Panama” program.
The initiative seeks to encourage passengers that travel to any of the airline’s destinations through Panama to schedule time for a stop in the country at the time of ticket purchase, without additional cost in air fare. In doing so, tourists can enjoy two destinations for the price of one.
Travelers in the United States can take advantage of this program via Copa Airlines routes out of Miami, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Washington D.C., New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Islas Secas, an Ultra-exclusive Resort, Has Opened Off the Coast of Panama
The Gulf of Chiriquí, a wild, volcanic stretch of Panama’s Pacific shoreline, was once known as the Lost Coast. Pirate ships ran aground here; ruthless buccaneers stole charts of the area from one another, eager to plunder its natural riches.
Like many properties of its kind, the current version of Islas Secas owes its existence to one man. A few years ago, an American hedge fund manager and philanthropist named Louis Bacon fell for the archipelago while on a sailing trip around the Gulf of Chiriquí.
Learning that the islands were up for sale, Bacon added them to a portfolio of conservation projects that runs from Alaska to the Bahamas.
